Ariel has lived in Northern California her whole life, and was fortunate to grow up surrounded by redwoods and just a short walk away from the local river in Point Arena, California. She pursued a bachelors degree in communications and a masters degree in education with a focus in equity and social justice at San Francisco State University and worked in science education and youth development for 10 years before joining Russian Riverkeeper in 2020. She is committed to protecting the Russian River watershed, advocating for clean drinking water, and building partnerships and stewardship to ensure our water, wildlife, and people stay healthy.
