Jasmine Moffett (she/her) grew up on the waterways of Northern California, where she fell in love with watershed science and stewardship. After earning her Associate of Science in Biology from Diablo Valley College in 2023, she promptly transferred to UC Santa Cruz to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences as a first-generation student. While attending UCSC, she became deeply passionate about ecological fieldwork, public engagement in West Coast watersheds, and the intersection between human and environmental issues in coastal communities. She participated in several research programs while in university, including a fellowship with the Holl Restoration Ecology Lab, employment at Younger Lagoon Reserve, and internships with NOAA Fisheries focused on salmonid conservation. After graduating in 2025, Jasmine began her environmental career as a corpsmember with the Watershed Stewardship Program, where she served with NOAA Fisheries. This position, along with her lifelong dedication to learning, has fueled her deep connection to the environment and a drive to promote biodiversity in our state’s threatened natural spaces. Outside of work, Jasmine is a multimedia artist and naturalist with a love for tide pools and little critters. She’s excited to bring her passion for stewardship to Russian Riverkeeper and to fight for this amazing watershed.
