We are very excited to participate again in the 14th annual Lake Sonoma Steelhead Festival. This event is an excellent chance to see real live steelhead and Coho salmon as they finish their migration up Dry Creek to their human-assisted spawning grounds, which are in the hatchery at the base of Warm Springs Dam.  This is a free event that offers something for the whole family. The address is 3288 Skagg Springs Road, and cell phones don’t work up there, so plan accordingly.

Upon entering the grounds, take some time to visit our table, alongside many other non-profit organizations. Discover specimens of our local wildlife, enjoy the offerings at tables, and make new friends. Browse the vendor booths for unique gifts. Live music on the lawn provides a festive atmosphere while you enjoy local beverages and delicious food.  Many great family-friendly activities.

The Milt Brandt Visitors Center and adjoining Don Clausen Fish Hatchery are full of exhibits, activities for kids, and more! Theres also a viewing platform to watch fisheries biologists do their work to ensure the Coho salmon and steelhead carry on their legacy for future generations of fish.  The collaborative efforts of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are very important to the survival of these threatened salmonids. With all the recent rains, the flows will be high and we hope for a high number of steelhead and Coho this season.

As a repeat exhibitor at the Steelhead Festival, it is always really fun and rewarding to talk with our community. We get to share what we’ve been working on, chat with our peers and partners at their tables, and brainstorm on new ideas and goals. It is the best way for us all to connect and come together to share our love of the River and its endangered fish species. We can’t wait to see you!
