Sarah (she/they) joined Russian Riverkeeper as Development Director in 2025. Their journey to environmental advocacy began in kindergarten, when they joined the “Earthsavers Club” and put a recycling sticker on the bumper of their great-grandfather’s ’67 Ford F100.
Their first road trip was at 10-years-old, with Mom and Dad taking the long route from South Texas to Redwood National Park by way of Arches and Crater Lake. Upbringing and affinity led to studying geography at Texas State University on the banks of the beautiful San Marcos River. They even named one of their first bands after the bubbling, clear Aquarena Springs.
Sarah’s career in nonprofit fundraising started at Earthjustice and the Western Environmental Law Center and has included deeply meaningful work with Equality Texas and Jolt Initiative. They bring their love for the Russian River and over-a-decade of expertise to bring in funds to support this incredible mission.
You can find Sarah splashing around a swimming hole, playing music, and watching NFL with their spouse and cats. Always excited to make a new friend, Sarah encourages you to reach out at sarah@russianriverkeeper.org to hang outside together.
