Since 1993, Russian Riverkeeper has worked tirelessly to restore and protect our watershed environment for the benefit of present and future generations. Trump’s second administration pick for EPA, Lee Zeldin, will attempt to roll back regulations that were put into place to protect our right to have healthy rivers and clean drinking water.

Zeldin is a major climate crisis denier. Instead of working on solutions that will combat climate-driven natural disasters, this second administration plans to ignore it and stop or impede the collective action that is in place to deal with the climate crisis.

As we prepare for what is coming, we need your support. Staying optimistic, informed, and active will be the best way to prepare for the first 100 days of the next presidency and beyond. It’s important we have motivated volunteers, donors, and partners standing with us.

How will we respond?

Riverkeeper will keep working on the most critical issues facing our watershed from climate resiliency to preparing for historic floods and longer, more severe droughts.

We will use fact-based science, law, and local community-driven action to push back against the deterioration of federal clean water and environmental laws and regulations.

We will work with our partners the California Coastkeeper Alliance to strengthen California’s clean water and climate laws to address the regression of federal regulations.

Along with our local ally Jared Huffman and the Waterkeeper Alliance and other national environmental advocates, we will fight against all efforts to weaken federal clean water protections.

We know that we face an uphill battle, but we are used to taking on big challenges.

Russian Riverkeeper firmly believes that everyone has the right to live in a healthy environment and have clean water to drink. These rights have no bearing on one’s political affiliations, race, religion, or economic status. Clean water is essential for all life, and we work every day to protect it.

Please become a donor or volunteer for a future cleanup to help us ensure our right to have clean water and a healthy river ecosystem over the next four years and beyond.
